Alibaba.com In early 1999, Jack Ma and 17 other founders set up Alibaba. Alibaba first commercial venture is Alibaba.com, an online platform that linked SME of Chinese and international manufacturers and buyers. The main reason of Alibaba success development was improving customers’ satisfaction by listening closely to them. The prove is Alibaba had attracted 32m members in 2007, with operating profits and revenues of $105.3m and of $289.5m respectively.
